What we do…

We increase awareness about the personal, community and economic benefits of choosing local, independently owned businesses FIRST.

What we offer…

·         Education: Our website and programs are a place to direct businesses, government and citizens to learn about local economies and how to go local. We also speak to groups of people on behalf of our members and the local, independent business community.

·         Connections: We work to facilitate relationships between businesses and consumers through our Annual Seacoast Local’s Guide and our Making the Connection Speaker Series; and work to strengthen business to business relationships through Member Mixers and Open Houses.

·         Market Development: We attract attention to the local first movement through campaigns such as our Buy Local Campaign, 10% Shift Campaign, Plaid Friday Holiday Campaign, and Independents Week. We encourage our members to use our materials in their marketing strategies in order to strengthen the brand recognition behind our organization, while our social media is alive with the latest studies and news about the local first movement both here in the Seacoast, and nationally, for anyone to follow.

In addition to exposure to prospective new customers, Seacoast Local creates an understanding of what a local living economy is and all the different building blocks that make one. We welcome businesses from all industries, and especially encourage those that are not in direct retail to see the benefit of being part of an organization like ours.
